I am a really big fan of nicely tinted 19th century images.

This is an 1870s loose tintype that was expertly tinted. There is slight facial tinting, but the real star are the flowers in the vase.

This is a step up in quality that is not often seen in these loose images.

Thanks because. You will see tinting on most 19th century hard images, but it is most often limited to slight face blush.

The hair-do on the fellow really tickles me. What was he thinking of?? Great piece and a treasure in your collection.

Such a cool item. Somewhere I remember seeing something about the pink cheeks albeit the colored background. Very nice. Love it.

Thanks goodfind-- the tinted cheeks are very common on cdvs and hard images of the era. Tinting beyond the cheeks is much more unusual to find.
