Flea market find. I paid 7 EUR for that, and the seller thought I want to buy the frame :D.
I think that this is ukiyo-e, japanese print.
I once asked for help my friend, whose husband is from Japan, and they said that the writing is in old japanese, and says something about Yokohama, but they could not say more about it.
From the fashion pictured on print it looks to me to be from 19th century.
I would be grateful is someone has any additional info on the print.
NevadaBlades has a Japanese wife, so hopefully he will see this and be able to give you some more info.
That would be great. Thank you!
You need this:
http://www.ukiyo-e.se/signatur.html
But I was not able to find it there. Grrr.
It means when directly translated that yokohama has many people coming to its shores. They will be riding on their horses in exchange for miles around the city.
The small words meant that this print is sponsored and "tokyo literary thatched cottage"(maruya)
Thank you fleafinder - a lot! So very interesting!
Please, what does it mean that it is sponsored?
Do you know name of the author?
the author is yong ling xin (the words on red)
It means the making of this print is sponsored by a name i cant define unfortunately
Thank you Fleafinder. That name sounds chinese to me. Very interesting!
