This little copper box, measuring 4.5" X 3" X 1" has no identifying marks on it. The second picture is of the back, with its hinge. It intrigues me, because it is very nicely done, but not quite a professional job. For instance, the design on the top is not centered, and the soldering on the inside corners is a bit excessive. But on the other hand, it has a lot of decoration, on top and on the hinge, which are not just utilitarian, and other than the patina, it looks like it could have been made yesterday, so it was definitely made to last! There are several very small places where it looks like it was struck with a tool that left a mark like "wwwxw" or "wxw", a sort of crosshatched mark. I'd be grateful for any info you could give on when it was made or who may have made it. Thanks!
