These are TN Japan (Nomura) tin friction cars - Police Car, Ambulance Car, and Fire Chief Car. These are in the original packaging. Each vehicle is 4-1/4" x 2". The package says "Friction Toy. Runs By Powerful Motor." I believe this is also an early-1970s toy, but there is no date on the package.

I've done a little more research, and I have come to the conclusion that these are also more likely to be '50s or early '60s . It's funny, because the back of the card only has a small TN logo and "Made in Japan" both at the bottom, and the rest of the back is filled with the pictures that are at the top on the front side. Has anybody else seen anything similar to these in their original package to corroborate this? I'm interested in finding out a little more detail on this, and it seems that the internet is almost devoid of valuable info. Thanks all!

Jason, My reference is the "T over N" in a circle is Nakamura Toy. The T.N is the mark for Momura. That's all I have, lol

AzTom - I've been investigating that relationship for a while, and I've not been able to get a really firm resolution myself. There is some evidence that Nakamura and Nomura were both actually the same company (at least for a while), but other evidence that the "T over N" was exclusive to Nakamura and the T.N. was exclusively Nomura. If you've got an online reference, I would love to check it out.. the more resources the better.

      For example - http://artoftoys.com/toys/tin-toys/nomura-ambulance

But then again, there is also - http://www.starblazers.com/html.php?page_id=206

So, I really don't know which is gospel truth, but I'm working on it. :)
