This 16" tall marionette does not have any markings on him. He looks handpainted & his string is a bit tangled at top, but he is in great shape otherwise.
Do any of you know anything more about him?

Hi. I have one almost just like this one in figure. Little details like color and the staff and possibly the hands i think are the main things different. I know they make and sell those a lot in Mexico. I got mine in Ensenada, B.C, Mexico about 35 years ago. I recently went down there about 3 weeks ago and they are still a very popular item that is sold by the warfs and eateries along the water front and tourist areas mostly. They come in a few other color attires, some with a poncho on, some have a little brown vest on, they all have the same hat an scarf i believe, and some have blue clothes, like mine does, some dark grey and this is the first pink one i have seen though. I hope any of that helped any. I dont remember how much mine cost back then because my aunt bought it for me. And I didnt see what they went for when i was down there recently. Mine also had HECHO IN MEXICO stamped on him and when i was a kid I thought HECHO was his name so thats been his name since then. Lol. They are entertaining.
He is actually in white clothes - my camera has funny hues now and then.
