This is a not too common shape by Iwatsu, sold under their Hineri brand.
I have had the red bowl quite a while but had to get this pretty blue in clear striped one when I saw it.
The bowl has been moulded and hot worked afterward to open the pleats a bit, so all of the bowls are slightly different in finished shape.
Like nearly all Japanese glass the rim is flame finished.
I have seen a pink and white version of this bowl at our monthly antique and vintage markets, incorrectly labelled as Victorian, but the stall holder wasn't prepared to change her attribution (or price) when I politely informed her.
Ah well - that was a year ago and she still has it....
The vase has a beautiful delicacy to it !~
It looks gossamer thin and oh so extravagant.......
Now I do like this blue one Karen!!
It looks like a batiste handkerchief to be dropped by a lady for her knight.I hope, you won't do it :)
wonderful indeed
Your resources are indeed impressive. The Force is strong in this one. You should make Glass Jedi soon.
LOVE Both. HOT (red) & COOL (blue)! [;>)
Drool. The colour is awesome. Everything about it is awesome.

It has such a generosity of pleats and the work put into it that makes this shape so perfectly right. I just love both of them, the blue in the hot weather we are having now, the red at Christmas. Can't wait to see the pink one added to your collection, that silly woman needs some talking to!! ;P
So right! It's a flirty pice in blue, festive in red. Thanks.
Beautiful bowl and awesome color!!
Thanks Scott and Nicefice - glad you like it!
