Cristal d'Arques 24% lead crystal pitcher

I love this piece, but can't figure out what the silver /black arrow (sticker?) is supposed to be. On the outside of the bottom is a space the arrow would fit in to, but I'd hate to remove it if that isn't where it is supposed to be.

Any ideas anyone?
