This dolls hat saved the wig (mostly), but the face is cracking along with some parts of the rest of her body. She is 19" tall and does not have any markings on her at all.

If the doll is an antique (1700s, 1800s) a doll will normally sell in spite of damage. Otherwise, no because the doll will eventually deteriorate completely. The plastic cannot be repaired - only replaced.
Very good to know!
Thank you so much for the feedback!!!!!
She is made of composition which can be repaired and has a cute character face so is collectible . Dates 1930-1940's
Thanks Manikin - I still need to look up what composition is exactly, but very greatful for the dates!!!!!!!!
Good news from Manikin! Glad to know it's composition and not plastic.
Composition is little wood chips mixed with a glue substance and pressed into a mold and when dry , doll would be dipped in paint for flesh color and eyes and facial features hand painted or may have inset eyes like yours which are tin , some are plastic and other glass eyes . Composition can no tolerate humidity , dampness or extreme heat changes which is why may are cracked or paint is peeling off . But I have repaired composition although tedious it can be done without noticing repairs .
Manikin - you rock!
I had no idea dolls were made like that - now I'm starting to be impressed... just do not let anyone of my family members know I admitted that.
Thank you so much for the info!!!
I just put up a close up of her face.
I will be putting up another composition doll for you to look at.
Thank you again!!!
Cute and could be repaired :-)
Good to know - she needs some TLC & would be a fantastic dolly.
