This composition doll does not have maker’s markings, but back in 1997 someone hand wrote on the back “Joann From Japan 30 yrs”. She has a lot of cracking, and 2 actual holes in her main body; and the dress she is wearing is way too big for her.
She is a factory made doll and was a inexpensive doll at the time , Dates 1940s era since she is made of composition . ( Composition is sawdust mixed with glue to form a medium that will dry hard and is poured into molds wet more liquid)
When I go to sell her should I leave the oversized dress on her or is it best to leave her naked?
I would just say that she does not have any original clothes but a dress is provided. Possible that whoever buys her can alter the dress to fit.
She is sweet in her oversized dress! Like a kid wearing her mom's dress.
I love her candy floss hair, too.
