These silver and amethyst earrings are by New Zealand's prominent Arts & Crafts jeweller, Elsie Reeve (1885-1927). They're beautifully made with traces remaining of a gold wash.

I've previously shown one of her bracelets and will put a link to that in the first comment below so you can see more of her bio info from that post.

Elsie studied at the School of Art at the Regent Street Polytechnic Institute, London. This was quite near The Artificers' Guild shop at 1 Conduit Street, and she must have been influenced by their work as her signature design grapes and leaves seen in these earrings is very close to similar designs used by The AG.

The second pic is from our National Museum, Te Papa, and shows another of Elsie's pieces using this design.

Hi Paul. These are lovely earrings. And you can see the AG influence very strongly. I have a AG pendant which is a very similar design with the two grape leaves at the top & grapes down the side.

I also have a ring with very similar grape leaves that I've never been able to identify.

An interesting comparison to the bracelet you posted. The work is very different. I'd never pick them as the same maker. Also very nice to have the original drawing to compare it to.

Hi Jewels, actually not drawings, slightly washed out pics of actual objects, here's a link to more of her stuff at Te Papa (scroll down to see the pics): http://collections.tepapa.govt.nz/Person/28367?state=(c0:(ln:7))

Her work is quite diverse, one of her tells is a vivid purple enamel, which is on one of the Te Papa pics and also on our bracelet.

I have the matching pendant and bracelet to these earrings; they are not silver gilt, but silver and the bracelet is alternating panels of amethyst glass and purple enamel.

Hi Sindeniah, I would love to see them, can you post some pics?
