So I can't commit myself to a manufacturer on this one as I don't believe these type of vases have been identified to any manufacturer. Seen so often advertised and attributed to M. Powolny, I don't believe there is any evidence that points in this direction other than the obvious 'tango' style decor. Still, this is my first and I had to just have one so I could get a close look at it. Incidentally, I didn't pay a Powolny price for it!

What I will say is that they are pretty well made, they don't have the weight of MP pieces but are well executed and this one has good base wear and a nice polished pontil.

Where are we on identifying these vases, does anyone have any suggestions or are we still in the dark?

These are nicely done pieces. I have one that has an unidentified provenance mark on it. An extremely small font, two line "Made In Czechoslovakia". Mine is the same as yours here, except in red and black.

The Powolny attribution is an example of bad information turned into an internet myth that will likely never die.

Thanks Craig. Maybe we'll find out from where these pieces originate one day.

I assumed yours was orange from the pics? Is it?

I think the pics are a pretty good representation of the colour - so yes I would say definitely orange.

Well - thank you very much Lisa! Not celebrated here in the UK, for obvious historical reasons (although some of us, and I'm including me, are celebrating OUR VOTED INDEPENDENCE from Europe!!) - So let me wish YOU a HAPPY 4TH JULY!!!

No offence at all Lisa - Brexit is going very well - despite the (pseudo-liberal intelligentsia) losers suggesting things like we (the ones voting for exit) are all ignorant racists etc. etc. and demanding a re-run of the referendum - it's especially pathetic to hear these rants from people who would rather sacrifice true democracy (a very rare thing these days) for a cheap/less expensive holiday on the French Riviera!!!

Put simply, I would suggest it is the most significant thing that has happened in British political history since the end of World War II. And interestingly one man was, for the most part, responsible for it (Nigel Farrage). He's a divisive figure, and I may not agree with all his views, but he has been one man, in the wilderness for more than 20 years fighting for the right of British citizens to take back their political and trading rights from a corporatist and corrupt EU. Now, hopefully, there will be the will in Parliament to see this through - I hope the will of the people will stand, but there's a knot in my stomach that our weaselly politicians will find a way to 'undemocratically' reverse this.

There are a great many Europeans that want out of this Federalisation of Europe and I don't think the British will be the last. I think if you took a referendum in Greece, Spain and Italy - they would all vote out straight away, but they are trapped in a spiral of financial chaos, with more than 50% youth unemployment and austerity economics instigated by US and EU Banksters and the only thing stopping sovereign bankruptcy are handouts from the EU - Rock and Hard Place......!

.... I need to stop - you've got me on a rand Lisa .... sorry!

Oh - I should add - we voted out of the EU and not out of EUROPE!! lol
