This doll has Shirley Temple on her back, but I do not see any resemblance to the child actress. This doll is 18" tall and is a composition doll.

I just sold her, so hopefully she gets her hair fixed and starts looking like the actress again.

She is a authorized Shirley Temple doll made by Ideal Toy Co. She is made of composition with a mohair wig and a replaced dress . To bad dress is not original , Dates 1930's Her eyes have crystallized and can be cleared a bit . Otherwise looks in fairly nice condition .

The 18 on her back means she is the 18 in size :-) when strung they maybe strung tight or loose making their size change a bit .

The dress looks a bit like an Annie dress?
Most dolls made after an actor or a celebrity don't look exactly like the actor or celebrity.
The composition dolls were very nice. Shirley herself seemed to like these dolls and there are photos of her with these dolls.
I don't like the vinyl dolls Ideal made much later too much, the ones with the broad smile. They also look older than she was at the time of her movies I think.
Your doll is cute and I hope your buyer has been happy all these years.
