A beautiful old Clay/Ceramic Pot

I love this vase, jar, pot

Not sure what it was used for but it is very beautiful in real life...
It is very heavy for its size, has no marks really other than a funny little groove on the base & the pattern around the base & top of jar...the pink/brown blotches seem to be under the glazing...maybe part of the glaze...not sure

I'm wondering if anyone would know what it was used for & also a time frame
