This evening bag is made in Japan by Walborg. It is a lovely gold satin with delicate gold beading on it in a flower pattern The center of each flower has 3 pearl beads. Does anyone know whether these are real pearls? I'm not sure when it was made but it is in lovely condition and very pretty. I found a few of these Walborg bags and really love them. I also found one marked DeLill also made in japan that I will post next.
So my questions are: does anyone know how old this is? Did Walborg use real pearls on its bags? Are these real pearls?
Thanks.
The moment I saw your pic, without reading your post, my mind said JAPAN. This looks so much like the one(s) my mother-in-law in Japan used. [;>)
Walborg - another HUGE maker of bead bags. The pearls are probably imitation. Rub the on your teeth. If real they will feel rough. If smooth, imitation.
Thanks for the info Celiene and Nevada -- I'm afraid I would bit the pearls off so I'll stick with fantasizing that they are real. I hope that is a happy memory for you Nevada. My Mother in law was very fashionable and had ben a showgirl in NYC. I'll try to scan a pic to upload; she was amazing looking.
