I found this little brown handbag in a goodwill near me -- the blur inside (in the second picture) is a stamp that says something about Canada. The bag is really cute and in great shape but I can't tell if it is leather or not and don't know who the maker is. Does anyone know or can anyone tell. The bag is in great shape but shows a bit of wear around the metal attaching the handle. It is a great size -- just about 8 x 5½ x 4" and the handle is about a 3" drop. The inside, which is almost certainly not leather, is a goldish bronze leather-like material and the flap when you open it is lined with a grosgrain. The three little straps on the front are not attached flat to the bag, rather they are sort of laced in .
I love the shape of the bag and the size -- I feel EXTREMELY ladylike when I carry it.
Any info on the maker and whether it is likely leather or not would be appreciated. I am posting another bag I got at the same time that is also made in Canada and marked Zenith.
Thanks
Does the zipper have a makers mark?
Is the zipper metal?
By the way, very nice bag!!!
Looks like leather to me, as the grain is the same as my leather R*lph L*uren bag.
Thanks Amatoor -- the zipper inside is metal but has no makers mark I can see. It is definitely pretty old. Thanks for the love.
And thanks Sean for the loves.
Great, classy-looking handbag,..... and a great find! [;>)
Thanks all -- I appreciate the loves Aloofness, Nevada, Sean and Amatoor.

My humble opinion is that this bag is plastic. Unless there's a tag in there somewhere that says genuine leather, it's plastic. And, who would cut out or remove a genuine leather tag.
It's a very chic looking bag, and I like the detailing on the front.
Thanks Gillian -- I have my doubts too about it being leather but it seemed like a lot of detail for a plastic bag.
You're welcome. Probably because plastic is cheaper than leather, the manufacturer could spend extra money on the detail?
