    I've bought a bunch of miniatures today and this larger piece painted on a metal sheet... not sure where it comes from and in which timeframe i should put this piece? Circa 1790 to 1810?
    Any idea is welcome...

      Looks like he could be Richard Thomas' (John Boy Walton) relative with that birthmark on his face!

      Post your miniature individually. Are they all hand painted??

      Yes, all handpainted and from around 1780 to 1820..... some of them in solid gold frames...
      I first have to do some investigations about them, before i post them
      Will visit some museums the next days...
      I think there is at least one by Etienne Bouchardy and one by Jean-Baptiste Jacques Augustin and another one by Johann Baptist Goestl and i think two by Georges Antoine Keman the others not identified yet... the signatures are very very very small... the tiniest miniatues are not even one inch in diameter....
      Unbelievable stuff...
