This jar is a mystery. It's quite large, measuring about 7.5 " in diameter by over 11" tall. The painting is lovely, and appears to have been done before the glaze.
The shape is not like any other Chinese jars I've seen. It's very much a non chinese shape to me.
The crazing is widespread and appears natural, but on the bottom of the jar it appears that someone made tiny pinpricks in the jar and I don't know if it was in an effort to cause cracking or to prevent it.
Would love to hear comments about this jar - and if anyone has seen one like it.
