I know that McKee, Cambridge, Indiana and Beatty-Brady Glass Companies made tableware items in the "Feathers" or "Finecut and Feathers" or "Doric" pattern but who made this Cake Stand. It looks very early and has an upturned rim in clear glass and the base is undecorated and has a Wafer that holds the stem to the plate. The design is crisp and is on the stem and on the under-side of the plate. It measures 9 3/4" in diameter and 5 1/8" tall. I'm hoping that Tallcakes can have a look at it since I'm sure he has the exact same Cake Stand in his collection. Thanks everyone, RER (BOB)
** Identified by TallCakes as being made by McKee Glass 1896 "DORIC"
looks to be McKee Bros. 'Doric' c1896. I have this in 2 sizes:

Thanks TallCakes! I figured it was pre-1900 by the quality of the pressed pattern and the glass wafer. I had it pegged as Cambridge because of the quality but it was more of a guess. It seems that you are missing this particular size in your collection......hummm BOB
very welcome. yep, unless this size is in one of the many that I haven't gotten added to my database; I've got lots of work to do to catch up.
Would look nice stacked-up in your fabulous collection........Bob
Beatty-Brady also had a very similar pattern called 'Indiana Feather'. And it MAY have been possible for Cambridge to have produced some forms of the 'Doric' pattern while part of the National combine with McKee, as molds could have been transferred.
A real beauty, Bob. [;>)
Yet another wonderful cake stand. I wonder how many you have in total, Sir TallCakes?
not really certain Katherine, but somewhere greater than 200, less than 300; closer to 300...
Thank you NevadaBlades, katherinescollections, Nicefice, SEAN68, fortapache, TassieDevil, jscott0363, brunswick, aura and TimeTraveller for the loves. BOB
