Bench chair with wheels

This is a bench I picked up from a garage sale for 10 dollars here in Minneapolis Minnesota. It has wheels on the bottom. The wood veneer is chipping and I intend to fix it. I want to find out more about this before I make a choice between using wood filler or replacing the veneer with wood. I am not sure what it is made out of. I can't find any identifying tags or in prints. The one detail I have noticed is that the bottom seems put together with flat head screws instead of nails. I am unsure if this is original but it does look old to be a repair.
