Art Deco style, right? Anyway, I got these at an estate sale a couple of months ago and thought they were very pretty and interesting. I have gone back and forth about a number of things: How old are they? Are they Art Deco? Are they pressed glass? Are they bud vases or candlestick holders? If neither, what are they? It is signed, but, who did it? It appears to be D.B 925 (109). Both have this mark.

Regarding age: The estate sale I went to did not have a whole lot of contemporary items. The glass seems as if it might be pressed only at the top rim where you find that pressed seal. The glass is a smooth satin glass which could be any age.

    Regarding what they are: ?

The metal on the bottom has kind of a mirrory (real word?) shimmer. I know 925 indicates silver, but, is it?

Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Update: I was researching Tiffin glassware and happened upon some satin glass candlestick holders the owner labeled Tiffin 1920s that were somewhat similar to these, at least the glass part. So, I'm thinking they might be Tiffin.

      925 (10g) indicates it had a silver overlay? But don't see any silver?? 10 g of silver....hummm

Thanks racer4four, aura, and nutsabotas6! And, Dizzydave, I never even thought the (109) I saw could very well be (10 g)!

its (10g) grams, I had a vase with same markings but mine had a silver overlay around the bottom. Look at the picture showing the etched info, you see how the bottom looks more clear glass? i bet those had a silver overlay bottom at one time.

Thanks, Dizzydave! I believe you are correct. Someone must have tried to clean the silver with something harsh and it ate off the silver. Oh well. At least I didn't pay much for them!

SEAN68, do you have any idea about what these are, when they were made, and by whom? I do think Dizzydave is right in pointing out the 10 g of the 925 is gone. But, what I'd really like to know is what are these and how old are they.
