Extremely Rare Large Sherman Brooch & Earrings Our Manikin Found For Me !!!
This item was not visible to Canadian buyers since it was an item that was from the U.S. and not setup properly so it never appeared to buyers if they were in Canada. So only U.S. buyers could see it and bid on it.
I was blessed on June 12th, 2016 to get an email from Manikin for this brooch and earring set on ebay, and though it is Canadian, I could not buy the piece, since they forgot to include Canada. When they omit Canadian bids or addresses, the piece becomes invisible to Canadian bidders so I could never find this listing and even though she said she would accept bids, her ad was not set up properly to accept bids from me. The seller was from the U.S. My ebay would not work so I told Mani to buy it for me before someone else might have got a link to it. Soon enough later Mani let me know that she bought the piece for me.
I had of course never seen this piece before so I looked in the book, "Sherman Jewellery: The Masterpiece Collection." It was not there so I asked my stone setter in Alberta if she had seen one. She said I got a very rare one and that could sell easily for 1000 dollars ! I was surprised, very surprised. Sherman Author Sandra Caldwell wrote to me : " I believe there is just one size that has the large grouping of small stones on the top. That pin is going to be spectacular. ..you did well. It takes a lot to make me jealous...and I am. Good for you! " So there it was, a piece never seen before by the author. Also to note is that the earrings match perfectly and I had never seen a pair of them before. For all the pieces they made of this design, I have only seen one pair in the book of a different colour setting that came with earrings. So that is amazing it came with the earrings. The earrings for the rare colours are hardly ever seen !! The U.S companies never copied this design. There are so many levels, with the height and setting of the stones, it would be a very hard set to duplicate. It appears not to have been worn or very little. The gilding on the back of the pieces is pristine, and all pieces are signed.
This is the piece that makes a collection noteworthy and spectacular. I got it in the mail today, June 23, 2016. Thank you so much Manikin for obtaining this treasure for me ! You are the very kindest of friends a person could have !!

Yes the brooch is signed and earrings are signed davey since I had it at my house till I could ship to Phil I took photo's of signature for my records :-)

This is beautiful. The colours and design typical of the 1950/60s. Have I missed any age or description of the materials used and design details. I'm trying to read on my iPhone late at night :)
Lovely item and again a great story of the friendships here. I'm waiting for an item from Alfredo who did me a favour as heaps of American bidders won't post to Australia but Inky and Racer have been awesome to me also. Love CW :)

Hi Phil! I have missed so many of your posts so I clicked on your name and was amazed to see all the beautiful items you have shared! This just so happened to be the first one I picked to comment on and actually got chills when I read that it was rare AND that Mani had found this for you! How amazing is that? She is such a beautiful person, inside and out!!! You are right, she is a Godsend! And this is a piece beyond words, the best Sherman piece I've seen. Haha, I just looked at it again, Got the chills again. Can not even imagine how superb it is in person!!!
