This is a chair that came from the estate of a woman who lived most of her life in France, the chair was shipped from France and never fully unpacked, it has a sleek modernist frame that has several layers of paint on it, the top coat being gold, the padded seat is a silk fabric, tufted with stuffing of excelsior and perhaps horse hair...
The chair measures 28.5" tall, 16" w,16" deep, seat height 16".
I think the design is very unique, I have looked for a signature but so far have not found one...I am wondering if anyone has any idea as to the age and how you would describe this? what period would it be?
Do you intend restoring this chair. The chair is not in good condition at all. Here are the results of a google image search for Art Nouveau chair.

The title that you used for you chair is very ambiguous. As I said, the chair right now, from what can be seen of it, defies description. I mean no offence at all.
Beautiful chair. definitely looks French to me. I'm sorry I do not have any information about the chair but I would suggest searching website like 1stdibs.com as they tend to deal with items of similar quality. Great find, by the way.
