1944 passport used for escape

Important 1944 Bulgarian passport that was issued for the purpose of leaving Sofia for British Palestine. During the beginning of that year indications were coming out that the British, together with the Swiss government, were permitting Jews to flee the Balkans as knowledge of the horrors of the war where getting out and fear for those still surviving. A special Swiss visa was issued inside passports and upon arriving in Turkey, the British PCO issued entry visas to the Mandate.
