Hello CW Friends!!
Our CW friend vintagelamp has inspired me to re-post my vintage "Boston Bull Terrier" doorstops. Though I posted these way back when, I felt they are worthy of re-posting.
These were both manufactured in the 1920's by National Foundry as well as Hubley. National Foundry lists these in their 1920's catalog as "Terrier" and Hubley listed theirs as "Boston Bull". So, I'll go with "Boston Bull Terrier" to save any confusion.
One manufacturer used (1) one screw in theirs, while the other used (2) two screws in theirs. I do not know which used which. I am not truly sure which manufactured these (these both have two screws).
They're in pretty good condition and both retain most of their original paint. I keep these in my great room and dare not keep them outdoors as I do not wish for the elements to get to these anymore than they have already.
Thank you vintagelamp for the inspiration to re-post these.
Thanks everyone for stopping by to admire my little fellows!!

I believe these are both National Design/Item # 149. They sold for $1.10 in 1920.
Thanks fhrjr2!! My catalogs show similar designs by Hubley and National, but I never knew which made these. Thanks for the info, very good to know who made these. Much appreciated!

Sincerely appreciated!!
They are quite similar but National sold their stops unpainted so people could buy the optional paint kit and design their own dog. The difference I see that would indicate National i the paint on these pups. You didn't list the length, height and weight but there would also be a noticeable difference there.
I believe the matching Hubley was Hubley Item # 311
Thanks again fhrjr2!! Much appreciated!!
