So I'm going through the house donating items to Goodwill when I come across this picture frame. It is from my husbands deceased Grandmothers house. He took it when she passed due to the fact it had pictures of his Grandma and Grandpa in it. The back of the frame is broken and can not be hung or propped up. It was also very tarnished. As I was placing it in the box a lightbulb went off in my mind regarding the fact that is tarnished. I recalled that only silver usually tarnishes like that. I sat down and took a closer look on it and found two marks on it, one that says sterling and a mark on the side that appears to be Japanese. His grandparents were stationed in Japan around the 1950's. I would like to know if anyone can translate the writing on the front of the frame, if this is in fact something of value and what time frame is it from? I appreciate any info!
