Unknown Religious Pendent

This is a small religious pendent I collected over the years, but never looked at.
It's a Virgin Mary with a wreath of 9 stars and 2 circles or dots between each star that extends from her hands. Her gown is blue enamel, she has a snake at her feet and the date of 1830 is below.
On the back there is a cross comprised of 9 vertical circles or dots and 6 dots horizontaly. At the bottom of the cross is a bar that intertwines with a letter M. At the bottom of each leg of the M are two hearts with breaks or pieces missing one has a sword through it and the connecting link is broken. Below this is the word ITALY, the entire graphic is encircled by 12-6 pointed stars.
I would like to identify the piece my Mother's parents were both immigrants and my Father's family had people who immigrated to the US and married into the family so it's source could be anywhere.
