This is of the Kwakel Bridge (Drawbridge) in Edam, Netherlands.

"History
The Kwakel Bridge is one of the oldest bridges of Edam. The bridge connects the Kwakel Alley with Doelenstraat (Doelen Street). The narrow wooden footbridge was built in the 18th century. Map of Joan Blaeu whose original copper plate was fabricated by Blaeu around 1650 and which was published by Frederick de Wit after 1698, state Kwakel Bridge already subscribed. The bridge is at the end of the Scheepmakersdijk and spans the Boerenverdriet. The bridge is a drawbridge and is also called bascule or drawbridge. The top of the bridge girder is weighted with a triangular tip. With a chain can be pulled down this part, so that on the other side of the bridge with the aid of a yoke of the bridge deck by two chains is pulled up. Besides the Kwakel Bridge lie a small boat building yard to the Boerenverdriet.
The bridge was recognized in 1967 as a national monument . On July 16, 2013 the bridge collapsed partly. The bridge will be restored."
