I got this DUI (distinctive unit insignia) in a small bag of misc. items.

The DUI is in rough shape but I see a crossed sword, arrow and 18thC style bayonet over a silhouetted human figure on a light blue crenelated background. There is an up-turned sword placed diagonally behind the blue background. Does any one recognize the unit?

The Sgt. stripes are smaller than usual, are they for a women's uniform?

3 Japanese coins and I think Japanese button.

1943 dated 50 centimes French coin.
    Good Conduct medal lapel pin.

Safety pin marked KD and 3.

Thanks for the ID, I knew there were a boatload of them. I also figured someone who had more knowledge of insignia would be here.
I see now what I took for the silhouette of a person was really a cannon.
I'll do a little more research now that you helped me identify the unit. Too bad it's in such rough shape. Thanks again AR8Jason.

Screw back probably identifies it as a hat device. I have seen that in pre and early WW2 photographs of enlisted soldiers wearing a unit crest on their campaign hat.

I have one right here at my desk-- bought it last fall on a campaign hat (I'll post it tonite).

I have several images of pre or early war soldiers wearing them-- it may take me a while to find them, but I'd be happy to post if you give me some time.

Thanks scottvez, for the hat device observation. I would be happy to see any pictures you have, no rush - whenever you get around to it.
