These photos were taken in the driveway when I brought it home. Seems to be in pretty good condition. I replaced the drywall screws with old brass slotted screws. I still need to find a receiver cap.
The bottom box slides up and lifts off. I think this was the battery storage.
Sorry, no wiring diagram.
Great old phone and would agree with the battery storage space.
That's a nice old Chicago phone. Phoneco (www.phoneco.com/) should have the receiver cap.
Thanks Zeter, the web site is http://www.phonecoinc.com/
They have reproductions @ $18.00 but I was hoping to find an old one. A vendor at the local antique mall said he had one for $10.00 bucks but the next time I saw him he said hie wife wanted to keep it just in case.
We scrapped truck loads of those old candle stick phones when I was a kid.
I have noticed recently, that so much of the left over phone parts have been drying up. How about that Canadian antique phone parts on line shop, do they have it ?
Thanks for the help. The place in Canada had a reproduction receiver for the Western electric like the I had found, but shipping was an issue.
After a little more research I found this place that had the Cap only for the Chicago so I ordered it. http://www.oldphoneshop.com/
Once it get here I will hang the phone and add a new post.
Thanks for all the comments and loves.
I did get the receiver cap in the mail and it fits perfectly. I would recommend the link I posted above for old phone parts.
Now just need to get it hung on the wall.
