We have lots of china that are art items on its one. I am deluded because all the items I had posted before were recategorized as simply “China & dinnerware” by CW, and some of them are really important pieces like a big platter and a Meissen tea cup (http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/132100-a-museum-quality-art-nouveau-platter-mar, http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/142315-meissen-cup-about-1875) another reason of my delusion is that they have a few loves. The one we are posting here was bought last December. There is no back stamp or mark which is not unusual for 19th century pieces as factories were not required to indicate country of origin until 1891. Based on the mold, the texture of and color of the porcelain, the gilded swirls and transferred floral design this is most likely from an Austria manufacturer and date to the late c. 1880's to early 1890's. The bright blue is quite uncommon. Most probably RS Prussia mold n. 43. Thanks for looking and every comment would be appreciated.
Thanks vetraio, nutsabotas and Caperkid for the loves
Another exquisite set Kivantitz.
CW can be very frustrating - it is very American in it's categories and direction, and it doesn't always meet a world wide perspective of collectibles.
Thanks a lot racer4four for the time you take with the comments. Yes the cultural differences in the point of views is more difficult to overcome than the language.
thanks tassiedevil, mikel85, jscotto63, vintagelamp, Ivonne and racer4four for the loves
