Love the "girls" - they are amazing- just need help identifying the materials, date range, and perhaps maker.
It is very heavy and extremely detailed. Although dark in color, some areas show a golden color (see pictures). I am thinking bronze and the "neck" below the globe appears to be copper (magnets do not stick to it).
The globe is textured with a crackled effect.
The base is stamped but is very difficult to make out - might be "OGF co" but the "O" could be something totally different or not a letter at all. The "F" is the only letter I can truly discern.
Should I try to clean it?
If anyone has any "clues" ... thank you in advance for sharing!

Typical 1930's, 40's, art deco nite lite. In the Frankart or Nuart style. Most likely made with pot metal or white metal. These are soft metals and become brittle with age. and should be handled carefully. I would just wipe it down with soft damp cloth. Was probably originally plated.

      Rocker-sd,
Thank you so much for your help!
Does it make a difference on the material if a magnet does not stick to it?
I edited my description to add that piece of the puzzle.

A magnet not sticking confirms that it is probably white or pot metal, A magnet does not stick to either one. I have collected these Art Deco girl lamps and ashtrays for almost 35 years. They were mass produced for the decorator market at the time. If you still are not sure of the metal, you could carefully remove the felt bottom and scratch the surface on the inside where does not show. If it brass or bronze it will reveal a gold or copper color. If it reveals a silver color its white or pot metal, more than likely. Hope that helps.

      Once again, Thank you Rocker-Sd!
I did exactly as you advised and it did reveal a silver color. I was also able to make out the mark as AGF Co. or ACF Co.
I really appreciate all your help.

Do not clean the lamp beyon useing a very soft dry cloth, the value of the lamp is not in wath it is made of but in the lamp as it is.
