Possibly silver dress clip, measures 1.5'' x 1''. Marked A-F Paris, Bte SGDG. It means brevete sans guaranties du government - patented without government guarantee. That's all what I know about it. I suspect the clip is from the first half of 20th century. Every info and thought are welcome. I would like to know especially about its age and the manufacturer. I saw similar dress clips with same mark on the net, even one was exactly same, but I still didn't get answer to my questions. Thank you beforehand!

It is very nice.....haven't seen one with this kind of clasp before!!! The only name that springs to mind is Bluette who made shoe clips.......not sure if they made dress clips as well.....

It looks like ancient(?) marcasite, and I think it has a strange pattern around it. I love dress clips 'cos it there is only one it doesn't matter. When I had office wear (dresses, skirts) I would use a Nina Ricci earring and clip it to the top of a dress, or collar of a blouse. (I had lots of Nina Ricci earrings.) Alas, and alack - wish I'd kept all that gorgeous costume jewellery.

I would use earring like this one to clip to the top of the dress - or a lovely black enamel with gold - those were the days.

Thank you CW folks for your nice comments :
      Tassiedevil, Lentilka11 and Gillian!
Gillian - those earrings are fab, and I like your idea to brighten up a formal wear with an earring applied as a dress clip.
And thank you everybody for the love click xxx
