Weller unique covered vase - acorn pattern

I have been trying to identify this vase but have not been able to find any like it. It is about 9 1/2 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches wide at it widest point.

The bottom says Weller with a small red 'A' stamp.

Would like to know its' function, name and value if possible.
