Large statue of an Oriental man stood on a koi Carp. No idea of origin or material etc, measures 24 inches height, very heavy and in good condition. I got him from a car boot but they knew nothing about him either.

find a discrete spot where it won't be visible and take a needle heated over a flame and stick it into the sculpture. if it melts, then your piece is made of resin. if you get a burning smell, then it is probably wood.
