This baket came from my Great Gradma's house. She died in 1972. It's dimensions are 8" tall, 11" wide at top, and 7" wide at bottom. I don't know what Indian tribe it was made by, or any date of age. What can you tell me?

This is a coiled palm fiber Mexican basket, from the Toluca Valley of central Mexico. Not Native American Indian.

It's identified by the weaving technique, where spaces are left between the stitches and between the coils. No Native American tribe uses this particular combination of technique, materials, and colors.

      It dates ca. 1950s/1960s.
