Hello everyone.
This is from our collection ......A pocket watch fob that is both postage scales and a stamp holder. It would have been worn on a pocket watch chain as a fob.
It is brass and the body of the fob measures approx 1 inch x 1 inch.
It has a Regd Number, which is 102604. I date this to 1888.
On the left hand side, ounces zero to 6 are marked.
On the right hand side, pence - one to 2 1/2 are marked.
So, all one had to do was write one's letter, weigh it on the scale....get the corresponding priced stamp out of the holder, pop it on the letter and post.

Would be a very handy item to have close by at all times. The postage is so high nowadays you almost have to check even your envelopes prior to sending.
