After seeing all of Rose's Blue Mountain pottery I remembered I had this large eagle (6"H x 15" W) that I had never posted. I believe I did post the Dolphins ages ago though. So I guess this is an appropriate time since the bald eagle is our national symbol and tomorrow being the fourth of July which is our Independence Day. However, not everyone was in total agreement as to whether the bald eagle should be used as our national symbol. In January of 1784 elder statesman Benjamin Franklin registered his own disapproval of the eagle as our national bird when he stated:

"The bald eagle...is a bird of bad moral character; like those among men who live by sharping and robbing, he is generally poor, and often very lousy.
"The turkey is a much more respectable bird and withal a true original native of America."

Point taken Ben... but I imagine that would have made Thanksgiving problematic to say the least.

    Happy Independence Day ! -Mike-

@Rick - Blue Mountain Pottery is a Canadian Ceramic....lol, not a glass. Maybe you meant ceramic but typed Glass. As we always have glass on our minds....LOL

The Canadian glass I did post ( other than Chalet Art Glass etc, etc ) was SEETUSEE Glassware made in Canada. These ones:
