    I found these with some old uniforms from an estate sale.
    The lenses look like the polarization is debonding.
    There is a case with it and the cloth and fur trim is in nice shape but I cannot find any maker's marks on the case which is flannel lined.

      I'm not familiar with this style & wondering if these aren't more for cold weather snow glare.

      Cold weather with polarized lens seems like a likely culprit.Mystery is what era they are from and were they military issued

      With no markings, that's going to be a hard call. If you are sure the lens are polarized, then that's the route I would follow. Don't think that technology goes back to the Amer. Revolution. LOL !!

      Lack of markings on something like this makes me think non-military, but heck, I dunno. Cold weather does sound like a convincing answer
