Possibly glove stretchers?

A tool that looks like a pair of pliers, made of wood and metal. I see that the nose is wide open even when the handles are almost touching, so it's for stretching, not clamping? But it looks kind of ordinary to be fancy glove stretchers. Any clues are appreciated.
