    (62 items)

Several of you know I have family in Canada and some of you have met some of them . Today I found a few old photo's of Ardath which now has a population of 3 or 4 people . One of my family of cousins lived in this town till the last one's death this year , all of them were Rodeo people .
This photo was taken in late 60 or 70's on a family trip to visit .
My Aunts store front which has a visible gas pump and lots of coca cola signs and misc in window. A Uncle is standing in front of store . The other Photo is of the Flour co-op next door .
I wonder where all the signs are now since they never threw anything away . Antiquerose ,Phil and Walksoft (bro) here is Ardath and Oh Rose I have a photo added for you I believe it is at Bounty Fair with Craig in wagon:-)

Updated **** last photo enhanced to show up much better ! Thank you Phil :-)

Phil when this photo was taken it was not a ghost town yet she still ran the store and across street she ran Post Office too :-) The School still in town is in really good condition yet but no kids are there .

Hiya Packrat :-) Not as cool as the ghost towns you have taken photo's of but glad to see you and miss those photo's you posted .

We don't have many ghost towns here in Aus although we are heading that way in some areas.
It must be a poignant thing to visit a family town now empty.

    9. Manikin Manikin, 8 years ago
Daddy _Nobucks the Coca Cola signs all look alike in photo but seems it was only company that gave her signs :-) The store burned down so I guess signs did too . Thanks for stopping

The store burned down before you were there Bro . But I sure wonder if they saved anything since nothing was ever thrown away . I still need you to go get me the Post Office out of the house :-)

I live in the GHOST TOWN capitol of the USA--ARIZONA--I crawled around in Jerome--b4 it was restricted to do so for safety purposes. My husband and I went up often, and found relics and brought them home. We were young and could climb in and out of places liked desert creatures, I still say I saw a woman ghost coming down the stairs from the church. My husband, right next to me---saw nothing! What a party pooper! I'd rather go to a ghost town than out to dinner and a movie.

racer4four thank you for stopping and yes it is sad to see a Town where your family had lots of history become a ghost town . We don't have many here in Midwest USA but always sad to see towns close up and go to ruin :-(

Chilling and interesting post. Was just telling a co-worker today I found the store front sign from what used to be the only grocery store in a hoarders building. It's so sad. I spoke of it on a post somewhere but it's in there.
He opens the store daily and changes the windows but there is barely a foot path and he's not selling anything and that's fine but...whatareyagonnadoaboutit? ;0?

Hi Mani! Great post and wow, strange to hear that a once family oriented town is now empty! And sad to hear that it burnt. I bet our Coca Cola friends here just cringed when they heard that!

      Great job on photos Phil!
    30. Trey Trey, 8 years ago
Love these photo's!!! I think you already know what I like in the photos :) Is the town still there? I wonder if the pump and signs are still at the store.

Share, I know I see those coke signs and not sure if they burned or family had them in storage !
Thanks Trey . I don't remember if pump is still there but store burned down .
