    (199 items)

I remembered an Indian head penny in all those coins my mother had collected & decided I wanted to keep it. (hey, I always liked them !). 1st search didn't find it, but the 2nd look, well, I quit counting after 15 . This is a straight, as they are 1903 - 1907. I just also liked the 1896.
Since staff always changes my categories, think I may drop this under base ball ! How about "coin-op" ?

I always loved Indian head coins. Of course, none of them have real Indian features.

Your fortunate to have them. The fact that they came from your family, makes them a most valuable collectable. Thank you for sharing them with us BB2.

Fun old coins but that your Mom left them to you makes them special . My Mother left me some useless Jamaican money lol. I wonder if I kept it I will have to look one day .

I have a collection of Jamaican from the yrs. I lived there. The 50¢ paper bills diss'd in the late 70's & I saved 4-5 of those. We walked with rolls of those ! Hey, a Red Stripe or Heineken was 50¢ back then ! Small pink bills, - but each one was a beer! When the communists took over the island, the value fell from being 26% over the U.S. to something like 37 to $1 real quick. Yeah communism !! Actually, some of their ideas were good. The "Yahoos" just didn't know how to implement them on a schedule. Of course, as usual, the poor were hurt the most in the long run. Yes, the island was communist for 8 yrs. & a lot of us made money out of it. The U.S. gov't. covered it up basically. Standard policy.

The ones I have are from the 1980s and 90's bb2 . She spent a lot of time there during those years helping build houses and being a friend to many Jamaicans , she loved them along with my sister who still goes there often to build houses and churches .

What areas did they work in ?
    11. MrDusty MrDusty, 6 years ago
Very lucky to have such a beautiful assortment of Indian Heads. I only have five; though I am blessed enough to have a beautiful 1863 made of the wartime alloy. They're as thick as a half dollar and have a wildly pale sheen that's indescribable.

If you have any with Cuds then it's likely they'd be happy to post a picture of them on cudsoncoins as well.

      What are "Cuds", Bro ?
    13. MrDusty MrDusty, 6 years ago
Cuds are a form of die break where the die that stamps the coin breaks at the corner of the coin, causing a large blob of metal that often obscures part of the coin's edge or even the traits of the coin. One of more notorious types are what are often referred to as "Athiest" Cud Cents from the Lincoln Memorial Series where a large Cud takes out the word "God" (along with others often) in the "In God We Trust" motto.

I'll post a picture of my birth-year Cud Penny soon for reference which will probably help people with the same question.
