W+R established in 1890,this set (is there another?) registered a year later.
It bears the first mark of the company later famous as makers of Carlton ware, but this is so subtle and magnificently made-I love the screw solid thread stoppers, not mere corks! The "Eggs" by the way are as solidly made as the stoppers.
The Egg cup would benefit from restoration to 2 tips but as the design is a broken shell I can live with it. English salts often have only one hole ,but these have 13 holes each and I expect you soon remembered the color of each.
I tried to take a picture with an egg in the cup, but all mine were a little too large.
With thanks to my local flea market for a steal!
This is really lovely!!!!
