Very Small Vintage Thumb Oiler Can

This vintage oiler is rather small. There is a penny on the left hand of the photos to show scale. The oiler can is 1 3/4" wide at the base of the can. There are no markings on the can plus I have never researched oilers. OK just did a bit of research and apparently it is thumb oiler.
Over on the right side of the photos is a small piece which is a lid for the can and is probably the rarest piece for this can.
Probably for sewing machines, typewriters etc.
