Yes, more than I would normally spend, but I was intrigued by this ring. I have tried searching the marks and got bupkus. I also tried an Image search and numerous word only searches. More bupkus.
Including the stone, the weight is 29 grams.
No obvious silver marks such as .925, but Geri tested it in four different places and all marks tested as silver. I have not the slightest idea what the "VIII" means, or the fancy intaglio "B"stamped on the inside.
Waving the white flag....
Thanks for looking/loving/trying to help,
~Bonnie~
Maybe palladium?
martika - glad one of us is awake...and I don't mean me, lol! I never thought of Palladium. Now, figure out what the "B"and "VIII" mean, lol!
Palladium is 950 gold. Wouldn't that be something...
Maybe it's not actually "PL", but something else.
Gah!
I'm not awake either, lol. Often I write something first and afterwards I'm thinking. Just looked up palladium, its symbol Pd and it's a rare precious white metal.
I know the "B"isn't BuddhaToBuddha because their mark is a double B back-to-back. I can't think of anyone else with a script "B". Ugh.
Mysterious at maximum... HEAVY mystery :-)
It seems too heavy for silver...
B for Borgia? ;-)
I'd try to see if it could open... upper part seems unusually thick, maybe it unscrew...
Anyway beautiful and great effect on your hand!

Kyra - I think you might be on to something....I bought a poison ring (sterling silver) along with this ring. So far, I can't get this one to open. The sterling ring is hinged, so no problem there.
I have never heard of Lucretia Borgia jewelry, so on my way to look it up.
B for Bonnie !!!
LMAO!
The ring is not magnetic. That's the only thing I know for sure.
sheesh.
Hello efesgirl.
can it be a byzantine medival ring?
Its only a gues
Hi aura - I wish it was....
I haven't been able to find out a thing yet.
Ken - the stone is synthetic. I still have not one clue who made it and can't find this ring online via Image searches.
grrrrrr..........
