I wonder how many yummy pies were displayed in this case sitting atop a diner counter. I bought this a few years back for my daughter who is an excellent pie baker. Was told it was from the 5os. I don't think we've had an occasion to fill it with pies...yet.

I can just picture the diner with this pie case sitting on the counter. Wow, we just don't have anything like that today. Now, they just bring out the desert tray:) Great post!!!

I know, Scott!! I'm just a sucker for anything vintage. Some I actually used and some I know my parents and grandparents owned. All of it intrigues me. I have very few new things in my house other than those which I need or feel I need to get by. This computer for one example!!! have a good day! mary

antiquerose, I would love to fill it with pies and stand behind the counter serving pie to grateful folks who would tell me how delicious my pies were!! Sadly, the pie making talent skipped a generation and my daughter outshines me by far! :) Now, if we are talking cakes...I can do them justice!! :)
