This is Marlene. I won her at auction. The seller believes she could possibly be a Müller and Strassburger (M & S) or a Georg Lutz. I adore her! Her body is cloth and her blouse and skirt appear to be antique/original, perhaps silk. She sits in a vintage Ebersol rocking chair from Pennsylvania Dutch country and holds a reproduction set of toy blocks and her black poodle. Her quilt was purchased at the Shriver House gift shop in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
German made by placing a maker on her would simply mean she has the look of that companies dolls but one can not be sure unless marked . The manufacture does not not change her value . Can tell she was well loved by some little girl and maybe she washed her face when she washed her own face . Little girls often did to their dolls what they did to them selves like hair cuts , paint nails ect . Nice piece of history in different doll making materials .
