This one belonged to my mom. I think it was her favorite. She gave me her cake stands as I was the child who enjoyed making cakes. I always presented her birthday cake on this one every July 5. I think she favored this one because it was colorful. The clear ones are beauties but they have no color.
What a beauty, Mary, it does look like Fenton. TallCakes can tell you more. :)
Katherine is correct. this one is a very nice example of Fenton's blue opalescent hobnail.
Fenton. So nice to benefit from the accumulated knowledge on this sight! Thank you!

Afterthought...mom would get a kick out of folks liking her dishes. She loved them . Once I visited and the table was set so beautifully. I asked who was coming. She said no one. She was just playing!
Good of you to love the cake stand vetraio50, Nicefice and mikelv85. Thanks much!
I love your story, Mary! How delightful that your mom was playing with her beautiful things! The soul of an artist. :)
katherinescollections, my mom and dad were both collectors so I come by it naturally as do my siblings.. Dad had his postcards, stamps, war memorabilia etc. Mom loved her dishes and furniture and they both saved every letter and photograph from their families. I count myself lucky to have inherited along with my siblings and I hope my daughters show interest to carry the tradition!
As for setting the table...the most important part of my preparation for a special event!! The food comes second. Poor guests! :)
thanks to racer4four, TassieDevil, petey and Manikin!
I had no idea that cake stands were so well loved! Thank you robin56!
