I got there just in time - the assistant had just begun to sort out the jewelry for pricing.
According to the My Classic Jewelry site, the fishhook clasp/shepherd's hook with chain was popular in the 1950s and 1960s. I would imagine that this choker dates to a later decade. The condition is perfect. No chips, and the metal is still very bright.
