An early all-original unsigned Willard school timepiece, with characteristics that attribute it to Aaron Willard Jr. This clock was probably made around 1815 (early second generation) on Washington St. in Roxbury, MA. Retains pristine old glasses, which are actually believed to be original to the clock. Near duplicates of these tablets have been seen in Simon's timepieces of the same period, and were replicated for a T. E. Burleigh presentation bridal clock by his wife Fran in 1979. This timepiece had been tucked away in an attic or storage space in the Boston area somewhere for probably 50 years or so, and had a significant amount of dust and dirt accumulated. The case has been very carefully cleaned to reveal the original undisturbed shellac finish, and the movement has recently been overhauled and brought back to excellent working order. A beautiful timepiece that pictures really don't do proper justice. Very proud to have the opportunity of being the caretaker of this clock for a portion of it's journey through time and history.
