An Australian purchase and probably more than I should have spent but I really like this thin walled flask.
It's got quite a mod look and clearly took design cues from the West but as usual, done in a different, Japanese way. It's very squat and the lip flare is large. I'm sure the Euro design would have been taller and the lip would have been horizontal.
This works well however. The bottle itself has two thin cases; white and clear. The hollow stopper has three; white, yellow, clear.
The sticker is "majolican japan" and has a dubious "i".
Majolican is a brand name I have seen on glass from Ishizuka, so this may be from one of their companies, possibly Hokuyo or Aderia.
1970s (?)
Height with stopper: 27cm
Nice bottles. I'm especially amazed by your knowledge about different glass designs.
Love the stopper, wonder if they were sold separately also ?
Oh, sorry I'm so ditzy... of course there is only one bottle and the yellow one is a stopper.
Very groovy indeed!! I love the yellow stopper.
Thanks Martika. I still have huuuuuge holes in my knowledge, but learning is living I think!
Phil I don't think so,mainly because the stopper won't stand up....it's useless on it's own! Thanks for the love.
It's a happy combo Ken. Your comment made me smile too. Thanks mate.
